Co-Artistic Director Claire Hodgson’s ‘Thank You’ for National Lottery Funding

Our Co-Artistic Director of Extraordinary Bodies, Claire Hodgson has written a wonderful blog which has published on the Arts Council website, explaining how their lottery funding has transformed lives across England.

Since 2012, funding through National Lottery ticket sales has meant that the dreams of many can become a reality. With each ticket, lives are enhanced, workshops go underway, and the arts can thrive. Claire tells the story of a range of growing artists from differing backgrounds, who are enhancing old skills and learning new ones all thanks to generous funding.

“Next time you buy a ticket I want you to close your eyes and see Derek who is flying and having a second chance at this life.” – Claire Hodgson, Co-Artistic Director, Extraordinary Bodies, The Infinite Diversity of the Human Body

Arts Council England also took a look inside our rehearsal room the other week when we were in residence at National Theatre, and made this 360 degree film (view it on a phone/tablet for the full effect!)

Extraordinary Bodies is funded by Arts Council England, using funds generated by the National Lottery. #Thankstoyou, players of the National Lottery, we are able to make a change to the way circus is made, programmed and presented. We are able to make work with and for every body. We are showing the world how things can be done. The funding is making a huge difference. Thank you.
