Extraordinary Bodies Young Artists (EBYA) is an integrated theatre company for 16-30s in the Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset area.
With us, you can develop your talents and receive training and mentorship from incredible professional artists with skills in:
- Aerial circus
Together we create ambitious and challenging work which we perform across the UK. EBYA exists to support young artists at the start of their careers and bursary places are available.
You can receive Arts Award certification with us and we’re proud to say that our alumni have moved on to NCCA, RADA and Bird College Conservatoire for Dance and Musical Theatre. In addition, we have successfully supported applications for opportunities with National Youth Theatre and Graeae Theatre as well as for Arts Council grants for Individual Artist Development.
We meet on Thursday evenings at The Lighthouse in Poole. At the moment, we are meeting remotely via Zoom due to lockdown.
We’re looking for new recruits!
If you’d like to join the company, then please email Eilís Bevan-Davis, our Artistic Director, at: firstname.lastname@example.org. EBYA is led by Diverse City, who run Extraordinary Bodies in collaboration with Cirque Bijou.
What’s happening in 2020?
After premiering our new show Till We Win in 2019, we planned a Summer tour in 2020 with performances at Bournemouth Emerging Arts Festival, Brighton Fringe and The Rep’s For/With/By. Although we won’t make it to the festivals this year due to COVID-19, we really hope we can bring Till We Win to all three events in 2021.
In the meantime, we are keeping busy! We are meeting on Zoom for our weekly sessions and we are also creating exciting digital content around the show with Biggerhouse films. Click on the icons below to find out more on social media:
